Happy Tears

After a 2-year hiatus, my eldest has returned to the cello.

I'm so happy I could cry.....and I did cry at his recital last night!

It is a beautiful thing to watch him coax music out of what is basically a hunk of wood and 4 sheepgut strings.  (yup....cello strings are often made of sheepgut.  Google it.)

It is even more beautiful to watch him grow into the person he was meant to be.  A cellist who runs distance.  A skateboarder who draws.  A passionate, funny, sensitive human.  My son.  (here come those tears again.....)

I see you, Tig.  And I love what I'm seeing.

That young man is brilliant. I knew it the second I met him, me on the grass and he 20 feet up a light pole.

Now, divine air! now is his soul ravish'd. Is it not strange that sheep's guts should hale souls out of men's bodies?
